Child and Family Counseling Center

Dr. Jim Stokes is a licensed psychologist who has been practicing since 1985 (1992 in the Roaring Fork Valley). The focus of my practice has always been the psychological evaluation and treatment of children, adolescents, and families. My particular areas of treatment expertise include divorce issues, anxiety, depression, parent-child conflicts, anger management, abuse victims, chronic illness, behavior problems, school problems, and custody/parenting time issues.

Karen Schultz Nadon, a resident of the valley since 1969, has a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from the University of Colorado. Karen works with couples, families, adults, youth and children. She has completed specialized training in Emotion Focused couples therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy for adults and youth, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy for treatment of depression, anxiety, anger management, and conflicts in relationships. In addition, she has extensive training in working with attachment disordered children and attachment parenting.

Kerri McNeill Cheney, MS is a therapist who holds a masters degree in counseling. Kerri has considered the Roaring Fork Valley her home since 1977. She provides counseling for children, adolescents and adults; individually, and in groups. Kerri's areas of treatment focus include: women with depression or abuse issues, parent-child conflicts and relationship difficulties.

Dr. Shanley Mangeot is a licensed psychologist and neuropsychologist who specializes in the evaluation of children, adolescents, and adults. She has expertise in working with children and adolescents with neurological and/or psychiatric disorders, including brain injuries. Evaluations can also be helpful in identifying developmental delays, learning disabilities, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Dr. Mangeot also provides counseling services for individuals and couples.

Clare Sanger

Currently semi- retired. Available for consultation on complex cases, addiction issues, and interested in serving on community outreach projects. Trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy as well as cognitive behavioral and couples therapy.

Colby Fulton Counseling LLC

Colby Fulton has earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Hispanic Studies from Lewis and Clark College and a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education from the University of Colorado at Denver. Ms. Fulton is a licensed School Counselor and a candidate for LPC licensure. She is supervised by Dr. Heather Kaplinski, a licensed Psychologist in the State of Colorado (license # 3257). Ms. Fulton currently works as a part-time School Counselor at Carbondale Community School and is beginning a limited private practice. Ms.

Gonzalez Counseling Services, LLC

We are a bilingual alcohol and drug abuse license agency serving the western slope mountains in the roaring fork valley. Services provided are in the Spanish language DUI/DWAI education & therapy, anger education, responsible living in the community (acculturation workshop), MADD-mothers against drunk driving, certifications for alcohol servers and retail, domestic violence 36 week program- soon to come, individual counseling for adults and juvenile,on site drug testing.

Heather Kaplinski, PhD, LLC

Dr. Heather Kaplinski received her Ph.D. in child clinical psychology from the University of Denver, and she completed her residency/internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Seattle Children's Hospital/University of Washington School of Medicine. She recently moved back to Aspen, and she has a private practice in the Roaring Fork Valley working with children, teenagers, parents, families, and couples. Dr. Kaplinski's therapy style is solution-focused, clear, and friendly.

Jacqueline Rosen

I have been a licensed clinical social worker for over twenty years. My specialty includes working with individuals, couples and families from preschool through geriatrics. The emphasis of my practice is on mood and anxiety disorders with an emphasis on relationships. My specialty does not include child custody or addictions.
